Website: Below ground and cold weather rainwater collection systems are common place in much of the north half of the United States, throughout the Rocky Mountain region, and in Canada. These systems are also located in other regions of the United States to hide the system and save space. However the proper system requires using correct material, special equipment and expertise in installing the systems below ground. Also there are techniques needed to insulate or protect the systems from freezing and being able to harvest and use rainwater during freezing conditions.
Charlee Myers has been in the rainwater harvesting business for over 20 years and HAS installed hundreds of underground systems and many placed in difficult and cold climate conditions. Mr. Myers has also been a tank distributor for five different manufacturers and has instructed many people over the years as to factory approved installation techniques. Being as Myers uses these types of systems himself at both his home and business locations in northern New Mexico, he has first hand experience with the many factors involved and will also share information form other areas of the country. He will share techniques and special considerations needed to install a proper below ground system that can function under cold climate conditions.
