|Project Gallery: ECOVIE 1|
This ECOVIE system was installed on St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands. The system is set up as the primary water source for a large home.Rain from the 7,000 square foot roof (44” annually) is filtered through Gutter Glove screens and is stored in a 25,000 gallon basement cistern lined with Rainwater Pillows.A 2 HP Rainmaster pump (Rain Harvest Systems) feeds water to treatment and irrigation back up.Treatment uses a Rainsafe ozone/UV system with 5 micron and carbon filtration following an M21 GE multi-media filter rated for 21 gpm.The back up to rainwater comes from a brackish well which requires desalinization.ECOVIE installed a desalinization plant rated for 6 gpm to feed to a separate cistern. This 7,500 gallon cistern (also with Rainwater Pillow lining and Rainmaster pump) provides back up water to the home and irrigation.
