Jon is a Principal, Senior Plumbing Designer and leads Interface Engineering’s plumbing group. Since joining the firm in 1990, he has been a strong advocate for water conservation and sustainable plumbing system design. Jon has served as the Chair of the Oregon State Plumbing Board since 2009. While co-chair of the Oregon State Plumbing Board, Jon worked with the former Chairman and Oregon’s lead plumbing official to create Oregon’s Alternate Methods for reuse of rainwater and grey water in the State of Oregon.
He has spoken about water issues at regional and national conferences, including the Green Building Focus Conference (2010), ULI’s Adapting to a Drier West program (2009), and AIA Seattle’s water forum The New Green Is Blue (2009). Jon is presently working on two major rain water reuse projects where rain water will be treated for reuse as potable water. These projects are the Oregon Sustainability Center in Portland, Oregon and Chatham University’s new Eden Hall Campus in Richland Township, Pennsylvania.
