Recently Mike was the Owners Representative for remedial repair and new construction projects related to roofing and waterproofing. Recent projects include: Jackson Rancheria-Pinewood Apartments, Corporate AT&T Headquarters, and UCSF Medical-500 Parnassus. During these projects Mike observed the installation of the work, verified the work observed was installed per the construction documents, and addressed non-compliant work with the general contractor. Currently, Mike holds the title of Senior Construction Associate at MC2 Consulting in the field of Construction Defect Litigation and carries a California Contractors License (General B License: 982655).
Mike has over eight years of experience in litigation support, defending homeowners, HOAs, builders, and subcontractors in construction defect litigation cases. Mr. Sutton's areas of expertise include, but are not limited to: roofing, deck waterproofing, building envelope assemblies, and residential and commercial fenestration systems.
The many years of inspecting, documenting and remediating water intrusion failures in the construction defect litigation profession enables Mike Sutton to bring the knowledge of how building assemblies fail to the ever evolving field of rainwater harvesting. As rainwater harvesting projects increase in number, Mike wants to help avoid failures with these projects by educating contractors on proper research and execution of project requirements and by helping to standardize quality control processes. Mike is passionate about promoting sustainable rainwater harvesting practices focused on education and quality control measures to avoid failures to ensure successful projects.
