OceansBlu, LLC designed this residential installation in Key West, where an average annual rainfall for this area is 39".

Originally designed for irrigation, a single turn of a 3-way manifold shuts off irrigation and turns on filtered water supply for the entire household in the event of hurricane. The system consists of first flush diverter, quiescent inflow into tanks, floating filter pick-up, isolation valve buried in vertical 8'' pipe, 42-gallon pressure tank, 3/4 HP pump, 3 cartridge filter and U/V light. The installation consist of two 3000-gallon containers which sits on a 10'x10'x6'' slabs sunken four feet to within one foot of MSL. The slabs are also anchored to bedrock to prevent a potential 25,000 pound buoyant uplift in each tank, in the event of hurricane storm surge. Two 525 gallon tanks sit on 4'x4' slabs and collect water from roof's lower elevations for drip irrigation. OceansBlu, LLC is also experienced in converting otherwise abandoned septic tanks into nonpotable cisterns in accordance with Florida Department of Health approved guidance.
