Merger of CANARM and ARCSA - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)


-If I was an active CANARM member, when will I receive my membership renewal notice?
Renewal notices will be emailed to you 30 days before your membership is due.  Simply pay the dues by credit card or check to continue your membership.


-What if I was a member of both CANARM and ARCSA?
Your membership has been combined to reflect the total months of membership for both memberships.  You will receive your renewal notice 30 days before the last of your combined membership months is completed.


-I was an inactive CANARM member and see that I am now an active ARCSA member – why is this? 
When we merged our databases, we automatically gave all inactive members an opportunity to renew with ARCSA prior to mid-November 2015.  For those who choose to renew with ARCSA, they simply pay the annual dues by credit card or check prior to November 13, 2015..


-How can I see my member expiration date and renew online?

  • For your first time logging into ARCSA or if you have forgotten your password: Go here:
  • If you know your username & password: Log in at
  • Go to MANAGE MY PROFILE (on green bar at top of page)
  • Under the heading, Invoices, Payments & History, click on MEMBERSHIP
  • Follow the prompts to:
    • Renew and pay online  OR
    • Renew and print an invoice (to send with your check payment)

-I am a Certified CANARM Professional; How will this designation be recognized by ARCSA?

Those members with CANARM certification are invited to complete the final steps to become an Associate Professional (AP) before November 13, 2015.  A rollover ARCSA designation of Certified Associate (CA), which has been allocated to those with CANARM certification, will be phased out in the future, with support continuing for the AP only.  


If you would like to advance your ARCSA-CA or Certified CANARM Professional designation to AP, simply pass the exam and submit the five systems along with the administrative fee.  Your five systems may be submitted through our AP Application 5 Systems online form.  (You will need to log in to complete.)  You will be notified when you are approved as an AP.


-Will the ARCSA Certified Associate & Certified CANARM Professional Programs be discontinued?
Yes, ARCSA will be directing all support and marketing efforts to the AP and discontinuing these programs.


-As a former CANARM member, which exam will I take to advance to AP?
To become an Accredited Professional (AP), you may take the ARCSA AP exam. 


-I have already passed the exam.  Who will review my five systems and what standards will be used to evaluate my five systems?
Your five systems may be submitted through our AP Application 5 Systems online form.  (You will need to log in to complete.) The evaluation systems are equivalent and the standards for both ARCSA and CANARM are the same. For guidelines, or questions regarding your 5 Systems submission, please send Heather an email through the ARCSA "Contact Us" form.


-Will there still be local training programs in Canada?
Yes, both Canada and US programs will be based on the new manual (slated for delivery this year) and reflect a standardized education and education system that crosses all borders.


-What are the ARCSA benefits?
As an ARCSA member you will receive all the benefits of membership including: discounts on the conference, discounts on webinars, discounts on workshops, the ability to receive a free basic listing on the ARCSA Resource Guide, and access to the member side of the website, including the ARCSA library.

Log in to view your benefits and manage your ARCSA profile.

  • Go to MANAGE MY PROFILE, (see green bar at top of page), you will be able to:
    • Updated your Personal & Professional Info (under Information & Settings/EDIT BIO)
    • Manage your email preferences (under Information & Settings/PREFERENCES)
    • View your renewal date & renew online (under Invoices, Payments & History/MEMBERSHIP)
    • Access numerous member benefits

-Will there still be a CANARM website?

Yes, the CANARM website will serve to help spread the word in Canada and maintain an active and visible presence there.  All membership links and resources will direct to the ARCSA website.


-Who can I contact if I have more questions?
Simply go to the contact area of the ARCSA site and submit your question.  It will be forwarded to the representative best qualified to respond to your request.
