FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FIRST INTERNATIONAL EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION TO
OFFER RAINWATER HARVESTING CLASS

The American Rainwater Catchment Systems Association®—a GuideStar® Gold 501(c)3 nonprofit—is the preeminent national educational and technical organization offering accreditation for rainwater harvesting professionals. Today, ARCSA proudly announces another collaboration with an institution of higher learning—Gaia College (www.gaiacollege.ca)—whose online course, “Rainwater Harvesting and Management” (RWH/M) complies with ARCSA’s curriculum requirements, including lessons on the latest design and installation standard - ARCSA/ASPE/ANSI Standard 63. To formalize the occasion, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Gaia College President Michael Hermary and ARCSA’s President David Crawford.

GAIA and ARCSA both work in the interest of environmental sustainability, stewardship and improvement, and share specific and common interests in rainwater harvesting.  The GAIA online course shares the same philosophies, methods, and objectives as the ARCSA Accredited Professional (AP) program.

This MOU creates a partnership between GAIA and ARCSA, built on commonalities and each organization’s unique strengths.  Participants in the RWH/M course will be able to utilize their gained knowledge and expertise in working towards accreditation with ARCSA.

The GAIA RWH/M course shall cover the rainwater/stormwater ARCSA/ASPE/ANSI Standards 63 and 78 contained in the ARCSA rainwater harvesting manual or as stand-alone support documents.

ARCSA’s mission is to promote sustainable rainwater harvesting practices to help solve potable, non-potable, stormwater and energy challenges throughout the world. ARCSA is very pleased to partner with Gaia College to reinforce its proud history.

ARCSA is currently producing the nation’s first online rainwater harvesting accreditation course, patterned after its November 2015 published comprehensive national rainwater harvesting manual. For more information, please contact Heather Kinkade, ARCSA’s Executive Director, at 512-617-6528, www.arcsa.org or info@arcsa.org.
